Permission to use track
Below is the email sent to the production label associated with Kate Nash from one of our group members along with the reply.
Re: Permission to use track
Dear Charlotte Thomas,
I am currently studying media for A2 at my school and this year requires for us to make a music video. We would like to use the track "Foundations" by Kate Nash and I am hoping you can grant us permission to use this for educational purposes. The final video will be uploaded to a private blog that only students of the school and examiners can access and will be taken down once the project is marked.
I would like to thank you in advance for your help in this matter and I look forward to hearing from you soon,
Kind regards,
Olivia Peacock,
Shiplake College, Henley-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, UK.
Re: Permission to use track
Hi Olivia,
Thanks for getting in touch, we are happy for you to use this for your project...
Best wishes,
Charlotte

Music Video Update
The video editting is going well. A couple shots need to be re-done and after watching our draft we've thought of better shots to replace the previous, so we are going to be doing some more filming in a week or so.
Should be taking some more photos at the next shoot and possibly interviewing our cast.

Audience Research Interview
From these interviews we found that overall they expect to see guitars, the artist featured and a storyline.
They thought that our target audience was between 16-24 (both male and female).
Those who enjoy indie pop like it as its relaxing.
Conventions they usually see included the artist dressed casually, guitars, featured at home/outside.
The people asked mainly get there music online or from YouTube.
They listen to music that get recommened by friends, that they see on the TV and music that is in the charts.
They all agreed that Kate Nash is indie pop and that an indie pop music video should be more narrative than performance.
From all the audience research that has been conducted we will have the main character dressed casually, and featured in a home (pub)/outside. We wont be using guitars in the music video as the song doesnt feature any. As our audience finds indie pop to be relaxing the video will have to match the songs mood so i shouldnt be over the top (information overload). The audience we shall be aiming for will be between 16-24 yr olds - mainly females
